How does consignment work?
The Pear Project sells unique handmade items with a modern utilitarian flare. Our motto is "Artisan Goods for Everyday Life" and our goal is to get as many artisan made goods into the everyday lives of people as we can. Consigning is a great way to get your goods out for sale without having to deal with customers, giving you more time to create. You send us your items, and we take care of the rest! By being part of our team you can link to us from your website, which will let people know you are part of a select group of artists. We take care of packing and shipping your order as well as customer service. As an added bonus your items will be for sale on a site we promote through many different advertising venues. It's a great way to get your goods in front of a wider audience, and increase sales even if you sell in other venues.
What kind of items do you accept for sale?
We are currently accepting items in the following categories : bags & purses, jewelry, household, clothing, paper goods & fine art. We will consider adding additional categories if we get enough qualified applicants in a new area. We look for modern, well made items that fit into our motto: "Artisan Goods in Everyday Life." We currently do not sell any edibles or bath/body products. We reserve the right to return any items that do not meet our quality standards.
What if I sell clothing?
We work on a drop shipping agreement with all our clothing designers to allow us to carry more sizes/colors. Email us with photos of your work for more details.
How much will you sell my work for?
We sell your work for the price you specify. In return for our services we take 40% of each sale. This means you get 60% of the price of your item for each item you sell, plus you don't have to worry about any fees.
When & how do I get paid?
We make all payments through Paypal. You will be paid no later 5 days of the 1st of each month for the prior month's sales.
What if I want out?
We keep items a minimum of 2 months. After that time period you can request that any unsold stock be returned to you at any time.
How do I know you are trustworthy?
The Pear Project is owned by Brooke Fuller who works out of her studio in Coastal North Carolina. She has built a positive reputation on Ebay (Liquid_reflection) & Etsy (brooooke) and has many satisfied customers. EIN verification is avaliable upon request.
Do you accept international consignors?
Yes! But we do require that you specify sale prices for your items in US Dollars & accept payment through Paypal.
Do you accept all applications?
We are selective in the items we chose for sale. We only respond to those applications that meet our needs at the time, but we do keep applications on file because our needs do change. If your application is not accepted please feel free to reapply after 90 days have passed.
Sounds good, how do I apply?
Send an email to apply@thepearproject.com with descriptions & photos of items you currently have avaliable for sale. We do not need a link to all of your work. We want to know what you can send us now. Please include descriptions of each item including size, materials, technique & suggested retail price. If you are accepted we will contact you with our consignment terms for you to sign, and send to us with your items.
